Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) by creating a DHTML link that uses the AnchorClick "A" object with a blank href attribute.

The weakness was shared 05/05/2003 by David F. Madrid as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2003-1484 since 10/24/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
