Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Administrative Console in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) 6.1.x before 6.1.0.45, 7.0.x before 7.0.0.25, 8.0.x before 8.0.0.4, and 8.5.x before 8.5.0.1 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via vectors involving FRAME elements, related to a cross-frame scripting (XFS) issue.
The weakness was published 08/06/2012 as swg27022958 as not defined advisory (IBM Knowledge Base). It is possible to read the advisory at www-01.ibm.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-3293 since 06/07/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1059.007 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
