A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Deon George phpLDAPadmin up to 1.2.1.1. Affected by this issue is the function masort in the library lib/functions.php. The masort function in lib/functions.php in phpLDAPadmin 1.2.x before 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via the orderby parameter (aka sortby variable) in a query_engine action to cmd.php, as exploited in the wild in October 2011.
The weakness was disclosed 11/02/2011 by EgiX with PHP (Website). The advisory is shared for download at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2011-4075. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.

Upgrading to version 1.2.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
