A vulnerability was found in John Bradshaw Np Gallery Plugin 0.94 (Photo Gallery Software). It has been declared as critical. PHP remote file inclusion vulnerability in nucleus/plugins/NP_gallery.php in the NP_Gallery plugin 0.94 for Nucleus allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code via a URL in the DIR_NUCLEUS parameter. NOTE: some of these details are obtained from third party information.
The weakness was presented 05/29/2010 by AntiSecurity with isec (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2010-5040 since 11/02/2011. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059 for this issue.
A public exploit has been developed by AntiSecurity and been published immediately after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. By approaching the search of inurl:index.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
