A vulnerability was found in SAP Netweaver (Solution Stack Software) (version now known). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing. The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in the Virus Scan Interface in SAP Netweaver allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the (1) instname parameter to the VsiTestScan servlet and (2) name parameter to the VsiTestServlet servlet.
The weakness was disclosed 12/08/2011 by Alexandr Polyakov (DiGiT) with Digital Security Research Group (DSecRG) (Website). The advisory is shared for download at service.sap.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-4707 since 12/08/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
