A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in NeoAxis NeoAxis web player up to 1.2. This issue affects an unknown function of the component Web Player. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in the web player in NeoAxis NeoAxis web player 1.4 and earlier allows user-assisted remote attackers to write arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in a filename in the neoaxis_web_application_win32.zip ZIP archive.
