A vulnerability has been found in Sitracker Support Incident Tracker up to 3.63 (Ticket Tracking Software) and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file translate.php of the component Installation. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
translate.php in Support Incident Tracker (aka SiT!) 3.45 through 3.65 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a direct request using the save action, which reveals the installation path.
The weakness was disclosed 01/29/2012 as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-5075 since 01/28/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
A public exploit has been developed by EgiX and been published even before and not after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 71 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k. By approaching the search of inurl:translate.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
