Details
A vulnerability was found in Mathopd up to 1.5 P6 and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown part. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in Mathopd 1.4.x and 1.5.x before 1.5p7, when configured with the * construct for mass virtual hosting, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a crafted Host header.
The weakness was released 02/13/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-1050 since 02/13/2012.
