A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in e107 CMS up to 0.7.22 (Content Management System). This issue affects an unknown part of the component Administrator Account. The cross-site request forgery (CSRF) protection mechanism in e107 before 0.7.23 uses a predictable random token based on the creation date of the administrator account, which allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that add new users via e107_admin/users.php.
The weakness was presented 02/14/2012 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securitytracker.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2010-5084 since 02/14/2012. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is necessary for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Upgrading to version 0.7.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
