A vulnerability was found in Ruby on Rails up to 3.0.3 (Programming Language Software). It has been rated as problematic. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in actionpack/lib/action_view/helpers/form_options_helper.rb in the select helper in Ruby on Rails 3.0.x before 3.0.12, 3.1.x before 3.1.4, and 3.2.x before 3.2.2 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via vectors involving certain generation of OPTION elements within SELECT elements.
The weakness was released 03/13/2012 as Bug 799276 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2012-1099 since 02/14/2012. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
