The web server in Certec atvise webMI2ADS (aka webMI) before 2.0.2 does not properly check return values from functions, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference) via a crafted HTTP request.

The weakness was disclosed 04/13/2012 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2011-4881 since 12/21/2011. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
