Integer overflow in the DPA_Utilities library in EMC Data Protection Advisor (DPA) 5.5 through 5.8 SP1 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop) via a negative 64-bit value in a certain size field.

The weakness was disclosed 04/20/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared at securitytracker.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-0407 since 01/09/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
