A vulnerability was found in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (Solution Stack Software). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is the function DiagTraceStreamI of the file disp+work.exe. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The DiagTraceStreamI function in disp+work.exe 7010.29.15.58313 and 7200.70.18.23869 in the Dispatcher in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1 and EHP2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (daemon crash) via a crafted SAP Diag packet.
The weakness was presented 05/15/2012 (Website). The advisory is available at service.sap.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-2512 since 05/07/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy.
