Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in deferredView.jsp in IBM Eclipse Help System (IEHS), as used in IBM Security AppScan Source 7.x and 8.x before 8.6 and IBM SPSS Data Collection Developer Library 6.0 and 6.0.1, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted URL.

The weakness was presented 06/20/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared at xforce.iss.net. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-2161 since 04/04/2012. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 8.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
