Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in the administrative user interface in IBM Lotus Protector for Mail Security 2.1, 2.5, 2.5.1, and 2.8 and IBM ISS Proventia Network Mail Security System allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the query string.
The weakness was disclosed 07/20/2012 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-2955 since 05/30/2012. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
