A vulnerability was found in SilverStripe up to 2.4.3 (Content Management System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file sapphire/trunk/core/model/Translatable.php. The manipulation of the argument locale with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

SQL injection vulnerability in the augmentSQL method in core/model/Translatable.php in SilverStripe 2.3.x before 2.3.10 and 2.4.x before 2.4.4, when the Translatable extension is enabled, allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the locale parameter.

The weakness was released 12/10/2010 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2010-4824 since 08/19/2011. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1505.
