A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in JAMF Casper Suite up to 8.4. This affects some unknown functionality of the file editAccount.html of the component Change Password. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-352. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. Multiple cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities in editAccount.html in the JAMF Software Server (JSS) interface in JAMF Casper Suite before 8.61 allow remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that (1) create user accounts or (2) change passwords via a Save action.
The weakness was presented 09/28/2012 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-4051 since 07/25/2012. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and a public exploit are known.

Upgrading to version 8.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
