A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Trevor Mckay Cumin. This issue affects the function get_sample_filters_by_signature. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in the get_sample_filters_by_signature function in Cumin before 0.1.5444, as used in Red Hat Enterprise Messaging, Realtime, and Grid (MRG) 2.0, allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) agent or (2) object id.
The weakness was released 09/28/2012 by Florian Weimer (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at lists.fedoraproject.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-2684 since 05/14/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1505 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
