A vulnerability classified as critical was found in SpamTitan WebTitan 3.50 (Anti-Spam Software). This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the file tools.php of the component traceroute. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The (1) Traceroute and (2) Ping implementations in tools.php in SpamTitan WebTitan before 3.60 allow remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via shell metacharacters in an argument, as demonstrated by an && (ampersand ampersand) sequence.
The weakness was released 10/08/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at sec-1.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-4639 since 11/29/2011. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
