A vulnerability has been found in Mahara up to 1.5.2 (Content Management System) and classified as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block of the file config.php. Mahara 1.4.x before 1.4.4 and 1.5.x before 1.5.3 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files or create TCP connections via an XML external entity (XXE) injection attack, as demonstrated by reading config.php.

The weakness was published 11/24/2012 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mahara.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-2239 since 04/16/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy.
