A vulnerability was found in David Alkire Drag and Drop Gallery up to 6.x-1.5 (Photo Gallery Software) and classified as critical. This issue affects an unknown code of the file upload.php of the component File Upload. The manipulation of the argument filedir with an unknown input leads to a remote code execution vulnerability. Unrestricted file upload vulnerability in upload.php in the Drag & Drop Gallery module 6.x-1.5 and earlier for Drupal allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a file with an executable extension followed by a safe extension, then accessing it via a direct request to the directory specified by the filedir parameter.
The weakness was published 11/30/2012 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at drupal.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2012-4472 since 08/21/2012. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
