A vulnerability was found in libssh up to 0.5.3. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is the function publickey_from_privatekey. The publickey_from_privatekey function in libssh before 0.5.4, when no algorithm is matched during negotiations, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and crash) via a "Client: Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange Init" packet.
The weakness was released 02/05/2013 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at libssh.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-0176 since 12/06/2012. The attack can be launched remotely.
