aeolus-configserver-setup in the Aeolas Configuration Server, as used in Red Hat CloudForms Cloud Engine before 1.1.2, uses world-readable permissions for a temporary file in /tmp, which allows local users to read credentials by reading this file.

The weakness was disclosed 03/12/2013 by Aaron with Red Hat as Bug 875294 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2012-5509 since 10/24/2012. The exploitability is told to be easy. The attack needs to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.

Upgrading to version 1.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
