A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Red Hat Automatic Bug Reporting Tool up to 2.0.1 (Reporting Software). This affects some unknown processing. Untrusted search path vulnerability in plugins/abrt-action-install-debuginfo-to-abrt-cache.c in Automatic Bug Reporting Tool (ABRT) 2.0.9 and earlier allows local users to load and execute arbitrary Python modules by modifying the PYTHONPATH environment variable to reference a malicious Python module.
The weakness was released 03/12/2013 with Red Hat as confirmed git commit (GIT Repository). The advisory is shared at git.fedorahosted.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2012-5659. The exploitability is told to be difficult. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
