A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Cogentdatahub OPC DataHub up to 6.4.19. This issue affects some unknown functionality. correctly. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:
Cogent Real-Time Systems Cogent DataHub before 7.3.0, OPC DataHub before 6.4.22, Cascade DataHub before 6.4.22 on Windows, and DataHub QuickTrend before 7.3.0 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and application crash) via malformed data in a formatted text command.
The weakness was disclosed 04/05/2013 by Dillon Beresford (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at ics-cert.us-cert.gov. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-0681 since 12/19/2012. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available.
Upgrading to version 6.4.20 eliminates this vulnerability.
