A vulnerability was found in WordPress up to 3.3.1 (Content Management System) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is the function "ExternalInterfacecall" of the file swfupload.swf. The manipulation of the argument movieName with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in swfupload.swf in SWFUpload 2.2.0.1 and earlier, as used in WordPress before 3.3.2, TinyMCE Image Manager 1.1, and other products, allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the movieName parameter, related to the "ExternalInterface.call" function.

The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
