Details
A vulnerability was found in Red Hat hawtjni up to 1.7. It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality in the library hawtjni-runtime/src/main/java/org/fusesource/hawtjni/runtime/Library.java. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Race condition in hawtjni-runtime/src/main/java/org/fusesource/hawtjni/runtime/Library.java in HawtJNI before 1.8, when a custom library path is not specified, allows local users to execute arbitrary Java code by overwriting a temporary JAR file with a predictable name in /tmp.
The weakness was disclosed 08/28/2013 by Florian Weimer (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-2035 since 02/19/2013.
