The (1) mamcache and (2) KVS token backends in OpenStack Identity (Keystone) Folsom 2012.2.x and Grizzly before 2013.1.4 do not properly compare the PKI token revocation list with PKI tokens, which allow remote attackers to bypass intended access restrictions via a revoked PKI token.

The weakness was disclosed 09/23/2013 as not defined mailinglist post (oss-sec). It is possible to read the advisory at seclists.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2013-4294 since 06/12/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1068 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
