Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerability in saveAccountSubTab.imss in Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Suite 7.1-Build_Win32_1394 allows remote attackers to hijack the authentication of administrators for requests that create admin accounts via a saveAuth action.

The weakness was presented 09/13/2012 by Tom Gregory as VU#471364 as not defined advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at kb.cert.org. The vendor was not involved in the public release. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2012-2996 since 05/30/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
