A vulnerability was found in EMC Document Sciences xPression up to 4.4. It has been classified as problematic. This affects an unknown functionality of the component Dashboard. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in EMC Document Sciences xPression 4.1 SP1 before Patch 47, 4.2 before Patch 26, and 4.5 before Patch 05, as used in Documentum Edition, Enterprise Edition Publish Engine, and Enterprise Edition Compuset Engine, allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files by leveraging xDashboard access.
