A vulnerability has been found in OpenStack Havana Havana-1/Havana-2/Havana-3 (Cloud Software) and classified as problematic. keystone/middleware/auth_token.py in OpenStack Nova Folsom, Grizzly, and Havana uses an insecure temporary directory for storing signing certificates, which allows local users to spoof servers by pre-creating this directory, which is reused by Nova, as demonstrated using /tmp/keystone-signing-nova on Fedora.
The weakness was presented 12/26/2013 with Red Hat (Website). The advisory is shared at lists.openstack.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-2030 since 02/19/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
