A vulnerability was found in 7mediaws eduTrac up to 1.1.1. It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the component Installer. The manipulation of the argument showmask with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory traversal vulnerability in 7 Media Web Solutions eduTrac before 1.1.2 allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the showmask parameter to installer/overview.php.
