Apache Santuario XML Security for Java before 1.5.6, when applying Transforms, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via crafted Document Type Definitions (DTDs), related to signatures.
The weakness was shared 01/10/2014 by James Forshaw with Context Information Security (Website). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2013-4517. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
