A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Moodle (Learning Management Software). Affected is an unknown code in the library lib/adminlib.php. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a credentials management vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-255. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
lib/adminlib.php in Moodle through 2.3.11, 2.4.x before 2.4.8, 2.5.x before 2.5.4, and 2.6.x before 2.6.1 logs cleartext passwords, which allows remote authenticated administrators to obtain sensitive information by reading the Config Changes Report.
The weakness was released 01/20/2014 (Website). The advisory is available at moodle.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2014-0008 since 12/03/2013. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. A authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
