A vulnerability was found in MediaWiki up to 1.19.17/1.22.8/1.23.1 (Content Management System). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown function of the component JSONP Callback API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. The weakness was presented 07/30/2014 as Bug 68187 / MediaWiki Security and Maintenance Releases: 1.19.18, 1.22.9 and 1.23.2 as confirmed posting (Mailing List).
