A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 9/10 (Web Browser). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and 10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption) via a crafted web site, aka "Internet Explorer Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The issue has been introduced in 03/16/2010. The weakness was released 08/12/2014 with Zero Day Initiative as MS14-051 as confirmed bulletin (Technet) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). The advisory is available at technet.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-4052 since 06/12/2014. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 12/17/2024). Applying the patch MS14-051 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at technet.microsoft.com.
