Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2, 3.5, and 3.5.1 does not properly implement the ASLR protection mechanism, which allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive address information via a crafted web site, aka ".NET ASLR Vulnerability."

The weakness was released 08/12/2014 with Microsoft as MS14-046 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared at technet.microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-4062 since 06/12/2014. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 77164 (MS14-046: Vulnerability in .NET Framework Could Allow Security Feature Bypass (2984625)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
