The Amazon.com Kindle application before 4.5.0 for Android does not verify X.509 certificates from SSL servers, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers and obtain sensitive information via a crafted certificate.
The weakness was presented 08/29/2014 by Hiroshi Tokumaru with HASH Consulting Corp. as JVN#17637243 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at jvn.jp. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-3908 since 05/27/2014. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely.
