A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 7.1.2 (Smartphone Operating System) and classified as problematic. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component IOAcceleratorFamily. The IOAcceleratorFamily API implementation in Apple iOS before 8 and Apple TV before 7 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (NULL pointer dereference and device crash) via an application that uses crafted arguments.
The weakness was disclosed 09/17/2014 by Felipe Andres Manzano (Catherine and Cererdlong) with Binamuse VRT as HT6441 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2014-4369 since 06/20/2014. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
