Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in MediaWiki before 1.19.19, 1.22.x before 1.22.11, and 1.23.x before 1.23.4 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a crafted SVG file.
The weakness was presented 09/26/2014 with MediaWiki as Bug 69008 as confirmed mailinglist post (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2014-7199. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
