A vulnerability was found in Mozilla Firefox 30.0/31.0/31.1.0/32.0 (Web Browser). It has been classified as critical. This affects an unknown functionality of the component Text Layout Handler. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 78489 (CentOS 5 / 6 / 7 : firefox (CESA-2014:1635)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family CentOS Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 122754 (Red Hat Update for Xulrunner firefox (RHSA-2014:1635)).
Upgrading to version 33 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 16793.
