Details
A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Netmeeting 2.1 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component callto URL Handler. The manipulation with the input value callto:msils/AAA[...]+type=directory leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
The weakness was presented 05/20/2003 by David F. Madrid as not defined posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. The attack may be launched remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
