Stack-based buffer overflow in the ihex_scan function in bfd/ihex.c in GNU binutils 2.24 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly have other unspecified impact via a crafted ihex file.

The weakness was presented 11/03/2014 by Michal Zalewski (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-8503 since 10/28/2014.
