A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in SAP NetWeaver (Solution Stack Software) (version now known). This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component XML Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a xml external entity reference vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-611. The product processes an XML document that can contain XML entities with URIs that resolve to documents outside of the intended sphere of control, causing the product to embed incorrect documents into its output. XML external entity (XXE) vulnerability in the Web Service Navigator in SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java allows remote attackers to access arbitrary files via a crafted request.
The weakness was presented 11/05/2014 by Vahagn Vardanyan with ERPScan as ERPSCAN-14-015 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at erpscan.com.
