Details
A vulnerability was found in F5 BIG-IP 10.2.1 (Firewall Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the file properties.jsp of the component HTTP POST Request Handler. The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality.
The weakness was presented 11/12/2014 by Anastasios Monachos as Release Note: BIG-IP LTM and TMOS version 11.0.0 as confirmed release notes (Website). The advisory is available at support.f5.com.
