CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in Oracle SPARC Enterprise M3000, M4000, M5000, M8000 and M9000 up to XCP 111x. This vulnerability affects some unknown functionality of the component XCP Firmware. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a input validation vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-20. The product receives input or data, but it does not validate or incorrectly validates that the input has the properties that are required to process the data safely and correctly. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

The mod_proxy module in the Apache HTTP Server 1.3.x through 1.3.42, 2.0.x through 2.0.64, and 2.2.x through 2.2.21 does not properly interact with use of (1) RewriteRule and (2) ProxyPassMatch pattern matches for configuration of a reverse proxy, which allows remote attackers to send requests to intranet servers via a malformed URI containing an initial @ (at sign) character.

The weakness was published 01/20/2015 as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - January 2015 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at oracle.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2011-3368 since 08/30/2011. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.

A public exploit has been developed by Rodrigo Marcos and been published before and not just after the advisory. It is possible to download the exploit at exploit-db.com. It is declared as highly functional. As 0-day the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 75181 (openSUSE Security Update : apache2 (openSUSE-SU-2013:0243-1)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family SuSE Local Security Checks. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 350738 (Amazon Linux Security Advisory for httpd: ALAS-2011-009).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. Furthermore it is possible to detect and prevent this kind of attack with TippingPoint and the filter 12307.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at X-Force (70336), Exploit-DB (17969), Tenable (75181), SecurityFocus (BID 49957†) and OSVDB (76079†). Additional details are provided at blogs.oracle.com. Similar entries are available at VDB-5707, VDB-5704, VDB-5726 and VDB-9975. Once again VulDB remains the best source for vulnerability data.
