Oracle Fujitsu M10-1/M10-4/M10-4S Servers up to XCP 223x XCP Firmware cryptographic issue

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Oracle Fujitsu M10-1, M10-4 and M10-4S Servers up to XCP 223x. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the component XCP Firmware. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cryptographic issue vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-310. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

The SSL protocol 3.0, as used in OpenSSL through 1.0.1i and other products, uses nondeterministic CBC padding, which makes it easier for man-in-the-middle attackers to obtain cleartext data via a padding-oracle attack, aka the "POODLE" issue.

The weakness was published 01/20/2015 by Krzysztof Kotowicz with Google Security Team as Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory - January 2015 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at oracle.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-3566. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1600.

It is declared as attacked. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 80921 (Amazon Linux AMI : java-1.7.0-openjdk (ALAS-2015-471) (POODLE)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Amazon Linux Local Security Checks and running in the context l. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 86129 (IBM WebSphere Application Server Multiple Vulnerabilities (swg21697368)-Deprecated).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Zero-Day.cz (308), Tenable (80921), SecurityFocus (BID 70574†) and Secunia (SA61825†). blogs.oracle.com is providing further details.
