CoreGraphics in Apple OS X before 10.10 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via a crafted PDF document.

The weakness was released 01/27/2015 by Mike Myers (PanguTeam) with Digital Operatives LLC as HT204244 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2014-8816 since 11/14/2014. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The advisory points out:

A memory corruption issue existed in the handling of PDF files. The issue was addressed through improved bounds checking. This issue does not affect OS X Yosemite systems.
