A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel 3.18.9 (Operating System). It has been rated as problematic. This issue affects some unknown functionality. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. Impacted is confidentiality.
The weakness was shared 01/28/2015 by Sasha Levin as confirmed mailinglist post (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-1420 since 01/29/2015. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
