A vulnerability has been found in Davistribe Google Doc Embedder up to 2.5.2 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block. The manipulation of the argument file with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. Directory traversal vulnerability in the Google Doc Embedder plugin before 2.5.4 for WordPress allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the file parameter to libs/pdf.php.
The weakness was shared 05/29/2014 by Charlie Eriksen (Website). The advisory is shared for download at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2012-4915 since 09/14/2012. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1006.

Upgrading to version 2.5.3 eliminates this vulnerability.
